OMS was founded in 1945 with the purpose of designing and manufacturing a center joint Pressure Snubber. This snubber proved to be an effective way to prevent damage to instrumentation and gauges caused by surges and pulsations that are found in a wide variety of industrial applications.
In the late 1950’s, OMS was asked by the U.S. Navy to develop a smaller snubber that could satisfy size constraints within the Polaris Missile Launch System. OMS responded to the call and designed the smaller, solid body snubber. The Company followed up this design by developing a snubber line with a wide variety of end connections and materials including Brass, 303 and 316 Stainless, Monel and Aluminum in order to satisfy requirements for aircraft and other naval vessels. Our Pressure Snubbers are on the government Quality Product List because of our exacting standards and quality manufacturing practices.
Since its inception, the solid body snubbers have satisfied widespread application solutions for OEM customers. Reaching a diverse customer base, our solid body snubber can be found in the “Jaws of Life”, the stages of The Metropolitan Opera Company at Lincoln Center, the Titan Missile Launch System, the next generation of nuclear attack “Seawolf” submarines, commercial and private aircraft including the new Gulfstream V, nuclear power plant piping systems, large industial stamping equipment, as well as oil and chemical pipeline applications.
Exceeding customer expectations is the hallmark which our team strives for on a daily basis. We look forward to the opportunity of providing you with your application solution.
